The level of automation in various industries is increasing. However, in the machinery industry, production processes such as machining and assembly are largely not continuous. According to available information, 75% of all industrial parts produced in the United States are small-batch production; three-quarters of metal processing production batches are below 50 pieces, and the time parts are actually machined on machine tools only accounts for 5% of the total part production time. This highlights the urgent need for mechanization of loading, unloading, and handling processes, and industrial robots are created to automate these processes.

Currently in China, robots are commonly used to perform tasks such as: quickly grabbing products from molds in the injection molding industry and conveying them to the next production process; handling material loading and feeding in the machinery processing industry; extracting high-temperature melts in the casting industry, etc. Robots are used in automated workshops to transport materials and perform welding, painting, and assembly operations, freeing human workers from heavy, monotonous, and repetitive physical labor. Especially in high-temperature, dangerous, and hazardous working environments (radioactive, toxic gases, dust, flammable, explosive, strong noise, etc.), robots can replace some human operations.

Currently, robots are widely used in various processes such as casting, forging, stamping, cutting, painting, and assembly. The currently used Zhenlian forging robot is an auxiliary forging machine used to clamp forgings and cooperate with hydraulic presses or forging hammers to complete the main actions of feeding, rotating, and turning. It helps to improve working conditions and increase production efficiency.
